10am To weed or not to weed with Josh Gomez

Join roadside weeds expert Josh Gomez from Macedon Ranges Shire Council in the Safari Tent for a closer look at weeds and learn how to identify weed species, their impacts and how to manage them.

11am Soilkee in action with Niels and Jamie Olsen

Meet Soilkee Pasture Renovator inventor Niels Olsen in the Safari Tent to hear the science and engineering behind this innovative system and then head out to the Safari Paddock to watch the Soilkee in action planting a multi-species covercrop.

Noon Temporary fencing tips and tricks with Alex Sims

Explore practical and cost-effective ways to maximise pasture grazing using Kiwitech equipment by local cattle manager Alex Sims. We’ll meet at the Safari Tent and then move to the adjacent racecourse lawn.

1pm Ancient landscape alignment with Adrian Drew

Join Adrian Drew from Tarwyn Park Training at the Safari Tent and head out for a walk along the Campaspe River for an introduction to Peter Andrews’ Natural Sequence Function principles and explore landscape-function design. The safari then moves to Post Office Creek to examine an ancient wetland.

2pm Riparian revegetation ramble with Martin Roberts

Gather at the Safari Tent for a stroll along the Campaspe River with Macedon Ranges Shire Council’s bushland officer Martin Roberts to discuss riparian riverbank revegetation and riverbank management.

3pm Sky-high synergy: drone and satellite mapping in action with Culum Revell

Drone pilot Culum Revell will demonstrate aerial drone mapping of the Safari Paddock and generate overlay maps showing RGB orthomosaic features, thermal imaging, vegetation type and topography, useful information for accurate landscape monitoring and ensuring accuracy for spraying. Meet at the Safari Tent.
